Sandra J. Fetterhoff
MARQUETTE, MI – Sandra J. Fetterhoff, age 83, of Marquette, entered eternal life Monday, September 25, 2017, at the Norlite Nursing Center.
Born March 3, 1934, a daughter of Robert and ElDora (Proctor) Gibson, Sandy was raised in Marquette and graduated from Graveraet High School. She married William Fetterhoff and, together, the couple established a home and raised seven children. Her first employments were as a nurse’s aide at the former St. Luke’s Hospital and later as an accountant at True Value Hardware. When Bill became sexton at Park Cemetery, Sandy assisted with keeping the books and answering the phone. She loved to read, work jigsaw puzzles, knit, and crochet. Both she and Bill enjoyed camping and often it became a family affair including various grandchildren they cared for.
Sandy is survived by her seven children, Sharon (Charlie) Ricker of Skandia, Dan Fetterhoff of Marquette, Terri (Bill) Alexander of Beaver Grove, Kris (Dave) Aho of Palmer, Kim (Amy) Fetterhoff of New Castle, CO, Tony (Laurel) Fetterhoff of Marquette, and Marie Fetterhoff of Appleton, WI; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; her sister, Margaret Dorow of Harvey; and brother, Arthur Gibson of Gwinn. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; and brother, Peter Gibson.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home on Thursday, September 28, beginning at 3:00 pm until the time of service at 4:00 pm Thursday afternoon. Rev. Leon Jarvis will preside. A reception will follow in the reception room located at the funeral home. Interment will be made in the Park Cemetery.
