Fredric Roy Volturno

THE VILLAGES, FL – Fredric Roy Volturno, 98, of The Villages, FL, formerly of Syracuse, passed away Monday August 21st at home.

Born in Italy November 28, 1918, Roy came to America in 1927 with his mother, 2 sisters and 1 brother, sponsored by his father, Joseph Volturno, who was an American citizen. He graduated from high school in Syracuse, NY and attended Syracuse University for 2 years. Roy served 4 years in the US Coast Guard during WWII. He managed retail stores for 35 years, retiring at 67 in 1985 to the Villages in Florida. He was a member of the Elks, Loyal Order of the Moose and The American Legion. He was predeceased by his wives Jane Volturno of Syracuse, NY and Theresa Volturno of the Villages, Florida.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Doris Volturno, of the Villages, and children; son, Robert (Sandy) Bannan, of Negaunee, MI, daughters, Candace (Ronald) Sharp, of Phoenix, NY, Cynthia (Charles) Ferri, of Cicero, NY, Karen (Steve) Mattie, of Montoursville, PA, brother, Sylvester (Lordis) Volturno, of Camillus, NY, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Friday September 1, 2017 at First Christian Assembly Church, 705 Hamilton St, Syracuse, NY 13204. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt next to his second wife Theresa Volturno. Family and friends may call from 9:00 to 10:00 am prior to services at First Christian Assembly Church.
