Jon ‘Sam’ St. Andre

FORT COLLINS, CO – Jon James St. Andre, age 77, passed away on July 11, 2017 in Fort Collins, CO. after a battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Jon was born on Dec. 8, 1939 in Ishpeming, MI to the late Adlorde “Sam” and Mary (Mongiat) St. Andre and was raised in North Lake Loc.

Jon was a man of great faith and lived a full and interesting life. He graduated from Ishpeming High School in 1957. He served in the US Army, and while in the Army was a member of the 1960 Olympic Ski Jumping Team at Squaw Valley. He graduated from Western State College in Gunnison, CO. where he met his future wife, Roine Rowland of Aspen, CO., who he married on June 5, 1967. They lived the next 43 years in CO.

In their later years, Jon and Roine built a cabin in Meredith, CO. where he had a small garden, fished, hiked, read a lot and crafted great sounding drums.

Jon is survived by sisters; Cecile (Richard) Sleeman and MaryAnn St. Andre, Steve Nelson and Trevor Washko who Jon loved as brothers, numerous nieces and nephews, sister-in-laws; Gerry (Ron) St. Andre and Jill (Jim) Boyd and a special friend Skip Baley.

Jon was preceded in death by his wife on Nov. 19, 2010, brother Ronald St. Andre on Jan. 19, 2017 and a special friend Maike Hall.

Jon will be buried in Colorado.
