Kenneth E. Posio

CHATHAM, MI – Kenneth Edward Posio, age 82, of Chatham, entered eternal life Monday morning, June 26, 2017, at UP Health System – Marquette.

Born May 7, 1935, in Marquette, a son of Onan and Sadie (Johnson) Posio, Ken grew up on the family farm in Chatham where he early on developed a strong work ethic and an interest in how things worked and could be fixed. Following graduation from Eben High School, Ken entered the Iron Workers Union apprenticeship program, and was employed for many years as an iron worker prior to retirement. He was known as a creative craftsman who could build anything out of metal. A jack-of- all-trades, he could often be found tinkering in his garage and was never too busy to lend a helping hand when something needed to be fixed.

Ken is survived by his daughter, Karrie Posio of Berkley, MI; his son, David Posio of Waterford, MI; a grandson, Dawson Posio; his step children, Kelly (James) Acree and Connie Wright both of Phoenix, AZ, and Darlene “Dolly” (Richard) McLaughlin of Marquette; a brother, Wally (Karen Lohf) Posio of Marquette; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patsy Ann Posio on November 28, 2016; and his sister, Marge Thompson.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dianne Peterson, Cindy Essenburg, and Wayne Salo, Ken’s good friends, who by their care, and always being there for him, enhanced the quality of his life.

In lieu of flowers, go to the Trenary Tavern on Saturday, July 8th at 3:00 pm; tell some stories and have a drink for a celebration of life.

The Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home is serving the family, where condolences may be expressed online at
