Jonathan J. Steede
ISHPEMING, MI – Jonathan James Steede, 36, of Ishpeming, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 17, 2017 following a brief illness.
He was born December 30, 1980 in Ishpeming, a son of Richard and Carol (Nault) Steede. Jonathan was a 1999 graduate of Westwood High School and a lifelong area resident.
He worked as a carpenter and finisher for his dad and with his brother’s for many years before and after graduation for his family’s business, Rich’s Building & Drywall. Later he was employed as a construction specialist at UP Health System – Marquette.
Jonathan had a wonderful sense of humor and was well known for it. He loved playing guitar and singing, fishing, camping, wine making and playing hockey. He had a fondness for animals and loved his cats, Natasha & Pepper.
He is survived by two children, Nicklas Oliver and Violet Matilda Steede of Paynesville, OH; parents, Richard & Carol Steede of Champion; brothers, Roger Steede of Ishpeming and Bryan (Valerie) Steede of Champion; aunts and uncles; Theresa (Dave) Danielson of Ishpeming, Larry Nault of National Mine, Donald (Linda) Steede of Negaunee, Al (Debbie) Morris of Ishpeming, Chrissy Walline of Skandia, Mary Jo Ketola of Montana, Jackie Holmgren of Negaunee, Denny Stanaway of Ishpeming, Jerry (Iris) Stankorb of Texas; nieces & nephews, Cory, Conner, Aryana and Dakota; and numerous cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 6 p.m. at the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home, 526 N. Third Street, Marquette due to renovations at Canale & Pennock location in Ishpeming. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. A luncheon will follow in the funeral home.
