Eunice Bertha (Priebe) Miller

MARQUETTE, MI – Eunice Bertha (Priebe) Miller, 76, of 548 County Road 545 N, Marquette, returned to the loving arms of her Savior on Thursday afternoon, May 18, at UP Health System – Marquette.

Eunice was born on December 24, 1940 at St. Luke’s Hospital to Alvin and Lillian (Rosin) Priebe. She was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she attended Sunday School and worship services and was confirmed in the faith. She graduated from Graveraet High School in 1959 after which she entered the US Navy, serving as a Radioman 1st Class at Andrews AFB in Maryland. Following the military service, she worked at Vollwerths, KI Sawyer Commissary and Dallas Cleaners before retiring. She was a very avid Packers fan for many years. She was a faithful member of Calvary Lutheran Church.

Eunice is survived by her daughter, Corrine (Mark) Shea of Ohio and her son, Keith Miller of Marquette; a brother, Walter Priebe of rural Marquette; four sisters, Amelia “Mimi” Wakkuri of Palmer, Pat (Milton) Johns of Marquette, Linda (Ron) Niemi of National Mine, and Paulette Parent of rural Marquette; six grandchildren, Kelsey, Kylie, and Morgan Miller of Negaunee and Lily Gormoka of Ohio, Kayla and Dylan Shea of Sheffield Lake, OH; an aunt, Elsie Basal of Marquette as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, special cousin, Ann Brown, friends and her church family at Calvary Lutheran Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son, William Aaron Miller; two brothers, Jon and David Priebe; a sister, Charlotte Priebe; a nephew, Greg Mager; three brothers-in-law, Flinko Wakkuri, Stan Mager, and Butch Parent; special daughter- in-law, Marcie Miller; cousin and Packer buddy, Bea Anderson and her former husband, William R. Miller.

A funeral service will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church, 6th and Ohio Streets, Marquette, on Tuesday, May 23, with family greeting friends and relatives from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 noon Tuesday. Pastor Andrew Schaller will officiate. A luncheon will be served by the Ladies of Calvary following the service at the church. Interment will follow at 4:00 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Green Garden.
