Kimberly ‘Kim’ Lynn Ronn

NEGAUNEE, MI — Kimberly “Kim” Lynn Ronn, age 42, of Negaunee, lost her courageous 9 year battle to cancer/ Lynch syndrome on Saturday February 18, 2017, in the loving care of her family. She was born January 22, 1975, in Edina, MN, raised in Glenrock, WY and moved to Negaunee in 1991 during her junior year in high school. While in high school, Kim started working at the Negaunee Credit Union as a Co-op student and part time Teller. She was a graduate of Negaunee High School class of 1993. Following graduation she enrolled in banking school, graduating at the top of her class. On September 23, 1995, she married Kurt Ronn and the couple established a home and raised two children, Kaylee and Klay. Kim continued her career at the Negaunee Credit Union later becoming the Honor Credit Union in Negaunee. During her 25 year career she held positions as a Teller, Member Service Officer, Consumer Loan Officer, Mortgage Loan Officer, Chief Lending Officer, Assistant Manager, Northern Lending Officer and currently acting as state wide Director of Real-Estate for Honor Credit Union. In her spare time she loved spending time outdoors, snowshoeing with her friends, spending time with family at her camp in AuTrain and kayaking down the AuTrain River. She also loved camping with her family and her winter vacations to Mexico. Kim will be loved and missed dearly by everyone and remembered for her creative ability, love for animals and willingness to give to so many.

Survivors include her loving husband, Kurt Ronn of Negaunee; her two children, Kaylee and Klay Ronn both of Negaunee; her mother, Sherry Larson of Negaunee; her two sisters, Kelli (Bruce) Crookham of Negaunee and Kristin (Nash) Soli of Green Bay, WI; her nieces and nephews, Makenna and Adyson Crookham both of Negaunee and Austin, Drew and Joslyn Soli all of Green Bay, WI and numerous, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father Francis “Fran” Larson in 2015; her grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.

Friends may call at the Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A celebration of Kim’s life will be held on Thursday in the funeral home at 7:00 pm with Rev. Leon Jarvis, Presiding. A reception will follow in the reception room located in the funeral home. Burial will be made in the Negaunee Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to: Honor Credit Union, 490 Hwy U.S. 41, Negaunee, MI 49866, for a Children’s Education Fund.
