Ronald G. St. Andre
ISHPEMING TWP, MI – Ronald G. St. Andre, age 84 longtime North Lake resident passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette.
Ronald was born December 17, 1932 in Ishpeming to Adlore & Mary (Mongiat) St. Andre.
Ron graduated from Ishpeming High School, and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Ron worked for Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company for 32 years, working as an electrician at the Iron Ore Improvement Plant and retired from the Tilden Mine as a foreman.
Ron was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Ishpeming V.F.W. Post #4573, and former member of the AMVETS.
Ron enjoyed traveling, especially his trip to Alaska, spending time at camp, hunting and fishing. He played in the Ishpeming cribbage league, was a volunteer at St. Vincent De Paul and at Cliffs Shaft Museum.
Ron is survived by his wife of 57 years, Geraldine (LaCosse) St. Andre, 4 children: Robert (Lauren) St. Andre of Chicago, IL, Mary (Dean) DuMoulin of Republic, Jim (Carol) St. Andre of Ishpeming and Kathy (Rick) Richmond of Wausau, WI, 2 sisters: Mary St. Andre of North Lake and Cecile Sleeman of Negaunee, a brother John St. Andre of Colorado, 5 grandchildren: Randi (Eric) Homburg, Alan DuMoulin, Alyss Richmond, Wayne Richmond, Emma Richmond, 2 great grandchildren: Braedon and Claire Homburg, along with nieces and nephews.
Ron’s family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday January 24, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 pm at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm with Fr. Larry Van Damme officiating.
Military honors will be accorded by the Vietnam Veteran of America Chapter 380.
A dessert social and refreshments will be served following the service at the K/D Hall.
