Francis Chetto

CUDAHY, WI – Francis Chetto of Cudahy WI, was born to eternal life at the age of 76 on Sept. 27th.

He is survived by his wife Joanne, children Scott, Tony, Carrie and 5 grandchildren. He is further survived by other family and friends.

Frank graduated from Negaunee High School at 17 and joined the Navy. During his naval tour of duty he had an audience with the Pope. After serving 4 years on the USS Forrestal (CV-59) aircraft carrier as machinist mate, he was discharged on his 21st birthday. Then he began attending welding school while working in Marquette, MI. He moved to Milwaukee to work at Johnson Controls, and later was offered a position at Caterpillar Tractor as a welder, and then promoted to inspector then a draftsman. He later retired from Navistar International Truck after the Caterpillar plant closed. Always a dependable and trustworthy father and sportsman; who Loved hunting, fishing, his beagle; Buddy and mostly his family. His sons followed in his engineering footsteps by learning many of their father’s skills from him. He was a firm but Loving Father, teaching many family values, courtesy, morals and common sense. He always looked forward to Birthdays, Holidays and any reason to have a couple beers with family.

One word comes to mind remembering Francis Chetto… genuine.

Burial to take place Oct. 7th at 1pm in Negaunee Cemetery, please meet at gravesite for committal.
