MRHC to present ‘Order in the Court’

MARQUETTE — The Marquette Regional History Center presents: “Order in the Court!” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct.18.

Join attorney Richard VanderVeen and retired Marquette County Probate Court Judge Mike Anderegg as they recount three of the most interesting court cases held in Marquette County.

Attendees will hear about the actual trial which was the basis for the film “Anatomy of a Murder,” Charlotte Kawbawgam vs. Jackson Iron Company and the Theodore Roosevelt vs. George Newett libel case. All three are fascinating stories. A $5 donation is suggested.

YMCA fall program registration set

MARQUETTE – The YMCA of Marquette County Fall session 2 program registration starts Monday for members and Oct. 23 for non-members.

Programs guides are available at the YMCA of Marquette County and the West End location. Enroll children into programs such as Teen Y-Fit, volleyball, After School Fit Club, swim lessons, karate and so much more. Programs are available for children from 6 months up to 16 years of age.

The Y also has programs for Adults such as TRX, The Morning Grind, Prenatal Yoga, Enhance Fitness, Adult Karate, Personal Training and much more.
