Summer season extended

HERMANSVILLE — The IXL Historical Museum in Hermansville has decided to extend the summer season to include Labor Day giving visitors a few extra days to see this historic treasure.

The days and times are 12:30-4 p.m. CDT Thursday through Monday.

The museum is the home of the former Wisconsin Land and Lumber Company. The main office building was built in 1881-82. Other buildings on the museum grounds include an original “company house,” a train depot, and Hermansville’s original produce warehouse that contains a representation of a company store from the early 1900s.

Group tours of the museum are available through the fall by appointment. Call Eugene Arduin at 906-498-2457 or Janet Ducat at 906-498-2429 to make arrangements for tours.

Museum organizers are in the planning stages on a fall festival. It will be from noon-4 p.m. CDT Sept. 17. Interested vendors can contact Linda Cooley at 715-382-3058 for more information or to reserve a spot.
