Pet Portraits benefit UPAWS

Contributions totaled $1,938 for the 31st annual Pet Portrait Fundraiser held in Marquette with the outdoor portion recently completed. The event, sponsored by BURKEphotos.com, benefits the Upper Peninsula Animal Wellfare Shelter. By making a tax deductible $69 contribution to UPAWS, pet owners have a professional portrait of their pet created by BURKEphotos.com and receive a 10×13 inch wall portrait. This is a $198 value. Included again as part of the fundraiser were pets and people portraits, where pet owners, family and children were included with their pets. The donation for these portraits was $99 which included the session and a 10×13 wall portrait, a $218 value. An outdoor version of pets and people portraits was also continued this year. “The generous support of pet owners, some having Pet Portraits done for as many as fifteen years, is heartwarming,” commented James Burke, president of BURKEphotos.com, in a news release.
