Legion donates to UPHS-M

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 44 of Marquette recently made a donation of Josh Dog Kits, which include the “I’ll Be OK” book and a dog house, to UP Health System-Marquette’s Pediatric Unit. The Josh and Friends Project is partnered with several prestigious groups and organizations like the Childrens Miracle Network. The American Legion Auxiliary Children & Youth Program, Pennies From Heaven and collections of pocket change at the Legion bar supports this cause. The book is inspired by a real life golden retriever. The Josh plush puppy and book helps alleviate stress and provide comfort to children going through tests, surgery and going into the hospital. Additional information on the project can be found at joshandfriends.com. From left are Heidi LaBlonde, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 44 of Marquette and Micailly Carlson, RN, BSN, Pediatrics.
