Junior Girl Scouts make donation to UPAWS

Junior Girl Scout Troop 5012 presents Ann Brownell of the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter with fleece tie blankets and a check for the Pink Lady: Hope for Healing. This fund provides money for emergency medical attention to injured and sick animals who come into UPAWS care. The girls, who are working on their Bronze Award, held a rummage sale where they informed the public of the Pink Lady cause. The troop used some of the profits to make blankets to comfort recovering animals and donated the rest to help an injured cat or dog become someone’s new loved pet. Pictured from left, in front, are Jessica Gooch, Ann Brownell, Molly Wilson, Elena Henry and Hayden Steltenpohl. In the back row are Ava Andriacchi, Gwen Rickauer and Petra Frazier.
