Animal Medical Center, UPAWS working together

The right partnership can make the world a better place. This month, Animal Medical Center of Marquette and Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter have been working together to do just that. On Feb. 14, Animal Medical Center presented a $500 donation to UPAWS, a local non-profit animal shelter. The donation was part of the local business promotion of its Facebook page. For every “like” generated on the Animal Medical Center of Marquette’s page, the veterinary practice provided the shelter with a donation to help care for these homeless animals. “We’ve been a part of this community for decades and care about its residents, both those with four legs and two,” said Dr. Kellie Holmstrom. “Our local partnership created a winning scenario for everyone, especially the animals at UPAWS. We are honored to be able to provide this donation to the animals in need.” In addition to the monetary contribution, Animal Medical Center is the February Volunteer Vet for Homeless Pets at UPAWS. Dr. Laura Klar was thrilled to be able to volunteer her time examining many of the new rescue animals at the shelter on Feb. 17.
