Westwood students excel in competition

More than 300 business students competed at Bay College in Escanaba on Jan. 6, demonstrating their skills in finance, business administration, management information systems, digital communications and design, management, marketing and communication. Student members of the Westwood High School Chapter of Business Professionals of America chapter competed, with 23 WHS students qualifying for state competition in their events. Advisers of Westwood BPA are Ronalyn Arseneau and Sabina Casperson. These students will represent WHS at the 2017 State Leadership Conference from March 15-19 at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids, where they will compete with students from across Michigan, attend workshops designed to aid in professional development, and gain valuable skills for their lives ahead in the world of work. Top students at the state conference will advance to the National Leadership Conference to be held in Orlando, Florida, in May.
