Taylor DeWitt of Negaunee High School was recently selected to receive the North Jackson Co. Scholarship, awarding her $500. The North Jackson Co. began its scholarship program in 2001 to honor and support the scholastic efforts and goals of Negaunee graduates. The company has offices in Marquette and Corvallis, Oregon, and is an engineering and geological consulting firm that has been providing scholarships as well as internships to Negaunee High School students. The company strives to be a responsible member of the communities where it is located and dedicates a portion of its profits to promote culture, education, and environmental stewardship. Taylor is planning to attend Michigan Technological University in Houghton in the fall where she will study chemical engineering. She is pictured with Jessica Bleha from the North Jackson Co.
