Appearing before Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi for sentencing May 31:

≤ Ronald Gail Hesse II, 46, of Marquette, was sentenced to serve 91 days in jail, with credit for 91 days served, and ordered to pay fines and costs of $198. Hesse pleaded guilty March 23 to one count of controlled substance possession.

Appearing before Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi for sentencing June 7:

≤ Amber Mary Jarvi, 29, of 422 Marquette St., Ishpeming, was sentenced to serve 22 days in jail with credit for 22 days served, given 24 months probation and ordered to pay fines and costs of $858. Jarvi pleaded guilty March 9 to one count of controlled substance delivery, schedule 1, 2 or 3.

≤ Janice Knapp, 35, of 17 Rosewood Lane, Ishpeming, was sentenced to serve 150 days in jail, with credit for 79 days served and balance of jail suspended, given 18 months probation and ordered to pay fines and costs of $515.22. Knapp pleaded guilty April 20 to one count of check, non-sufficient funds, more than $100 but less than $500.

≤ Daniel Wesley Johnson, 60, of 1992 Werner St., Marquette, was sentenced to 150 days in jail, with credit for one day served, 35 days to be served upfront, with remainder of balance deferred, given 12 months probation and ordered to pay fines and costs of $798. Johnson pleaded guilty Feb. 23 to one count of operating while intoxicated, OUIL, per se, second offense.

≤ John Allen Kantola, 52, of 20295 County Road 496, Champion, was sentenced to 360 days in jail, with credit for two days served and 180 days to be served upfront, with remaining balance suspended, given 24 months probation and ordered to pay fines and costs of $398.

Appearing before Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi for sentencing June 8:

≤ David James Bellmer, 40, of 502 E. North St., Ishpeming, was sentenced to serve three to eight years in prison, with credit for 282 days served and ordered to pay fines and costs of $198. Bellmer pleaded no contest March 29 to one count of assault, weapon, felonious assault.

≤ Jesse Reino Hakola, 42, of 215 Lehman St., Iron Mountain, was sentenced to serve 330 days in jail, with credit for two days served, with 180 days to be served upfront and the remaining balance deferred, given 12 months probation and ordered to pay fines and costs of $1,358. Hakola pleaded guilty to operating impaired, OUIL, per se, third offense.

Appearing before Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi for sentencing June 15:

≤ Mary Ann Hemstock, 47, of 395 N. River Drive, Gwinn, was sentenced to serve 60 days in jail, with credit for three days served, with jail time deferred, given 24 months probation and ordered to pay fines and costs of $21,729. Hemstock pleaded no contest April 13 to embezzlement-person in relation with vulnerable adult.
