REPUBLIC — Many people dream of plucking $20 bills from the breeze. That dream became a reality for nine Republic-Michigamme High School students Feb. 9 when they discovered more than $700 blowing around outside Phil’s Teen Center where they were killing time that Monday afternoon. A Chicago native who was snowmobiling in the area was the grateful beneficiary of the honesty displayed by students Tammy Nicholas, Marsha Durant, Lisa Saari, Connie Lamond, Mike Todd, Ryan Durant, Shawn Augustson, Mark Mattila, and Greg Shepherd. They recently received letters of appreciation from Marquette County Sheriff Joe Maino, Marquette County sheriff’s Deputy Al Lampi, and R-M High School principal Dave Gailiardi.
