Man arrested with crystal meth
ISHPEMING — A 64-year-old Ishpeming man was arrested for possession of crystal methamphetamine Thursday after detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team seized about $3,000 worth of the substance.
The man was arrested outside of his residence on North Second Street in Ishpeming, UPSET officials said.
Authorities also executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence and seized around a half ounce of crystal meth.
The man was lodged at the Marquette County Jail for possession of crystal meth.
UPSET was assisted by the Ishpeming Police Department, the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post, Homeland Security and the U.S. Postal Inspector’s Office.
“The detectives that are assigned do an outstanding job with identifying dangerous drugs that are coming in to a community and they work extremely well with our federal partners,” Detective Lt. Timothy Sholander of UPSET said.
