‘Cloud Atlas’ to be discussed

MARQUETTE — At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, the Peter White Public Library will host a meeting of its science fiction book group, Klava Klub, at Contrast Coffee, located at 600 N. Third St., Marquette.

For this meeting, the group will discuss David Mitchell’s novel “Cloud Atlas.” This sweeping novel of interconnected stories begins in the mid-19th century as notary Adam Ewing travels from the Chatham Islands to his home in America. Then mid-sentence it jumps to 1930s Belgium with musician Robert Frobisher, only to then jump across time and place culminating in post-apocalyptic Hawaii. The story, however, does not end there, as it then proceeds to move back in time, ending once again with Adam Ewing.

There is no admission charge to attend. For more information, visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
