Man arrested for hit-and-run crash

MARQUETTE — A 40-year-old woman was injured after being struck by a vehicle on U.S. 2 west of Iron River on Thursday morning.

The Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post stopped a 26-year-old Iron River man who was reportedly driving erratically on U.S. 2 in Iron River around 1:40 a.m, an MSP press release states. At the time of the stop, the state troopers were informed by Iron County Central Dispatch of the reported hit-and-run accident. It was determined that the vehicle involved in the traffic stop matched the description of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian.

The woman was transported to Aspirus Iron River Hospital for her injuries, and the driver was arrested for operating while impaired and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
