Flea Market set for Saturday

NEGAUNEE — The Vintage Fancy Iron Flea Market is set from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the end of Iron Street near the Iron Ore Heritage Trailhead.

Sponsored by the Negaunee’s Downtown Business Association, the show’s theme is “A tribute to the Iron Ore Industry here in the Upper Peninsula.” Iron ore was first discovered in Negaunee in 1844.

All participants who come dressed up as a miner will be given an extra entry ticket for a drawing to win some great prizes. Organizers also will be doing a Downtown Negaunee Business Passport, in conjunction with the event sponsors. Those attending can pick up a passport, then stop by to visit each of the participating stores and select vendors for a stamp. These stamped passports can be turned in to the entry box by Hanna’s Tea Times to be put into a drawing to win prizes. One does not need not be present to win. Winners will be notified by phone.
