MUNISING — The Alger County Chapter of the National Federation of Decency is rallying local residents to lobby against obscenity. A total of 56 area residents gathered this weekend at Wesleyan Church to hear about the problem of pornography on a local, state and national level.
“We are talking about really hardcore pornography,” said Donna Petersen, a local federation member. “We are talking about stuff that is illegal.” The local NFD gathered more than 500 signatures on a petition asking the local business community to stop selling “pornographic videos, magazines, records, etc.”
