Noblet presented an update on the Sagola plant, which expected to begin producing “waferwood” on limited basis next month with full-time operations to begin in May.

SAWYER AIR FORCE BASE — Events in connection with K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base are occurring so rapidly that it sometimes is difficult to keep pace with them. Within the past 10 days, and apparently due in part to the changed thinking in American defense because of Sputnik, the picture at Sawyer has been altered drastically. From a fighter-interceptor base with limited capabilities, Sawyer apparently will become an SAC (Strategic Air Command) dispersal base with almost unlimited possibilities.
