Police ID body as missing Iron River man

MARQUETTE — Police today identified the body found Friday morning along the Marquette shoreline as 53-year-old Robert Anderson, who had been reported missing since late October.

Anderson and Sarah Hall, 37, both of Iron River, were reportedly swept off Black Rocks in Marquette’s Presque Isle Park when an Oct. 24 storm brought record-setting waves and hurricane-force winds through the area.

Around 9 a.m. Friday, police responded to a location near the Hampton Inn along Marquette’s Lake Superior shoreline, about 200 yards south of the city’s Lower Harbor ore dock, where Anderson’s body was found.

Police said Tuesday Hall has not yet been located.
