Missing hunter found, is OK

MARQUETTE — The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a missing hunter on Lake Lory Road in Champion, according to a report issued Saturday.

Miles Mattson, 69, of Marquette was reported missing around 7 p.m. on Saturday. When Miles did not return to the cabin after dark, family members contacted police.

Mattson was located at 12:30 a.m. Sunday near the Greenwood Reservoir Road by Marquette County Search and Rescue in good health. Assisting at the scene was Michigan State Police.

Elections board meeting off

MARQUETTE — Wednesday’s meeting of the city of Marquette Elections Board has been canceled due to a lack of agenda items. The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for April 26.

Yooper wins $4.3 million

MARQUETTE — A Mackinac County man can’t wait to “share with family” after winning a $4.3 million Lotto 47 jackpot from the Michigan Lottery.

The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched all six Lotto 47 numbers drawn Nov. 1: 16-20-23-32-37-45. He bought his winning ticket at the Kwik Mart, located at 330 E. Main St. in Walkerville. This is the seventh time in 2017 a player has won the Lotto 47 jackpot, according to a Michigan Lottery release.
