Voter access tips for Election Day

MARQUETTE — Voters in Marquette’s Precinct 4 will be voting at the city’s Municipal Service Center, located at 1100 Wright St. during today’s general election.

For ease of access, the west entrance to the MSC parking lot will be closed. Voters should use the east driveway — closest to the lake — to enter and exit the parking area.

Due to the construction, temporary traffic lights are present, and it will be quickest and simplest to access the precinct from the east.

Lakeshore Blvd closed to thru traffic

MARQUETTE — Beginning on Wednesday, Lakeshore Boulevard will be closed to through traffic between Baraga Avenue and the US 41 / Genesee Street intersection. Closure to through traffic is required to place water and sanitary sewer utilities to the new development off Lakeshore and Baraga Avenue. It is anticipated that work will be completed by Saturday. Access to the Hampton Inn and residences along Lakeshore Boulevard will be by means of the U.S. 41 and Genesee Street intersection.

The public is advised to use caution when traveling through this area and to be alert for construction and advisory signing.
