The Forsyth Township’s Neighbor Night Out took place Tuesday at Peter Nordeen Park in Gwinn. First-responder vehicles were at the park for people to see up close, with a variety of foods also available. The Negaunee Township Fire/EMS Department will be hosting a Neighbor Night Out Party from 6-8:30 p.m. today at the Negaunee Township Hall, 42 M-35. Several emergency services are bringing their trucks for people to get a close look at and visit with emergency personnel. At 7 p.m., the Valley Med Helicopter will land on the Little League field for display. At 8 p.m., the Marquette County Sheriff’s 131 Rescue Unit will demonstrate on a vehicle how the cutting shears and the Jaws of Life will be used to a free a driver who will be tapped inside. There is a smoke house in which adults and children can experience what it’s like to be in a smoke-filled room and how to properly escape from a home fire. Medical personnel will perform free blood pressure and blood sugar testing. For the kids, a bounce house and pony rides will be available for the kids. Free hot dogs, brats, chips, cookies and refreshments will be available.
