Ishpeming man sought in connection with alleged assault
A former Ishpeming resident is being sought by the Ishpeming Police Department in connection with an alleged assault.
According to an IPD press release, the Marquette County Prosecutor’s office has issued a warrant for David James Bellmer, 39, for assault with the intent to do great bodily harm less than murder.
Bellmer, is described as a white male with red hair. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and approximately 165 pounds, the release states.
The charges are related to an alleged incident that occurred at 502 E. North St. in Ishpeming on July 30.
According to the IPD press release, a 42 year-old female reportedly escaped from the residence on July 31 and used a neighbors phone to call 911.
Officers arrived on scene and searched for Bellmer at the 502 E. North Street residence, but he had fled the area before officers arrived on-scene, the release states.
The alleged victim was transported to the hospital where she was treated and released the same day.
