MARQUETTE — The Northern Dairy Co. this year became the first dairy in this area to produce the new high vitamin content Hi-V milk.

This vitamin enriched milk was developed after years of research and study aimed at making milk a more nutritious food. The Northern Dairy Co. was organized and incorporated in 1935.

The farm is a combination of a group of smaller dairy companies. President and general manager is George Johnson.

The plant and offices are located at 718 N. third St. in Marquette. The Ishpeming plant is at 408 E. Ely St.

The firm is the only dairy in this area which produces all its own major dairy products locally.

The milk supply comes from dairy farms in the Chatham-Eben area. Ice cream is manufactured in the Ishpeming plant, with all other products being processed at the Marquette plant.
