Vets, workers discuss orphanage progress

George Welton, right, a resident of the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette, prepares to have lunch with workers who are laboring to renovate the former Holy Cross Orphanage, which is located right across the street from the veterans home. Jacobetti officials said many veterans wanted additional information on the work and how it was progressing, prompting organization of the get-together. The workers talking with Mr. Welton are, from left, Curtis Tuttle of Skandia, and Jerry Sides, Dan Coats and Lou Cass, all of Marquette. (Journal photo by Bud Sargent)
