Man arrested for numerous thefts
MARQUETTE — The Marquette Police Department and Northern Michigan University on Friday reported the arrest of a 23-year-old Norway man on seven warrants authorized by the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office.
The man is charged with two felony counts of larceny from a motor vehicle, a felony count of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle causing damage, three misdemeanor counts of malicious destruction of property and one misdemeanor count of larceny under $200.
The arrest stems from a joint investigation by Marquette police and NMU Public Safety after numerous vehicles in Marquette were broken into and damaged in January and February of this year. Car stereos, CDs and other electronics were some of the items stolen from car.
The man was lodged in the Marquette County Jail pending arraignment.
