Alger County Transit Authority executive director placed on leave
MUNISING – Rochelle Cotey, executive director of the Alger County Transit Authority, has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation being conducted by the Munising Police Department into recent financial activity at ALTRAN, according to officials from the entity’s board of directors.
“We ask the public to withhold judgement until this investigation is complete and to honor the rights and the privacy of an individual who has dedicated her entire life to the service of her community,” the ALTRAN Board of Directors said in a release sent by email dated for Thursday, but received by The Mining Journal Friday.
Rod DesJardins, who serves on the ALTRAN Board of Directors, said an interim director will be appointed, though he did not indicate whether a candidate had been chosen.
Due to a pending investigation, he declined to comment further.
According to its website, ALTRAN provides transportation services in Alger County and surrounding areas.
