National Adoption Day celebrated in Marquette

Trevin Taylor, 5, enjoys a chocolate cupcake with family friend Todd Foote. Taylor was adopted Tuesday by his grandmother, Letitia Cipriano. In celebration for National Adoption Day, a special event was held for foster and adoptive families in the community room of the Peter White Public Library Tuesday afternoon. Four adoptions were finalized earlier that day by Marquette County Probate Judge Cheryl Hill. Child and Family Services and U.P. Family Solutions hosted the event, which included a LEGOS station, free books and sweet treats. Hill also read a children’s story to the kids. An information table was provided about local adoption agencies. “The day went fantastic. Any day you can create a forever family is a wonderful day in Marquette County,” Hill said.
