MARQUETTE — No injuries were reported after Ishpeming police responded to a drive-by shooting on Iron Street Tuesday night.

The incident happened at 635 Iron St. in Ishpeming around 9:59 p.m. Tuesday, according to a press release from the Ishpeming Police Department.

Three people of interest are actively being sought by police in relation to the shooting: Brandon Lee Schiefel, 24, of Ishpeming; Michael Paul Fletcher Jr., 29, of Marquette; and Alicia Ann Kerkela, 26, of Ishpeming.

The three suspects fled the scene in a Buick, which was later found abandoned on South Second Street in Ishpeming, police said.

Ishpeming police officers searched the area with assistance from the Michigan State Police and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, searching several houses within the city.

According to the release, officers received a tip around 6:58 a.m. today that the suspects were hiding out at an apartment in the Phelps Square Apartments, located along East North Street in Ishpeming.

Officers conducted a search of the apartment and building in response to the tip but did not locate any of the people of interest.

Police said they are unaware of a motive behind the shooting at this time and the incident currently remains under investigation.
