Woman arrested in connection with standoff

MARQUETTE — Lorin Elise Rochon, 31, of Marquette was arrested Monday in connection to a recent standoff between Rochon and police.

On Friday, officers from the Marquette Police Department went to Rochon’s residence to perform a well-being check on her. When police arrived at Rochon’s residence in an apartment complex located at 200 Northland Drive, she opened the door and pointed a firearm at officers before they arrived at her door.

Personnel from the Michigan State Police and Marquette County Sheriff’s Office arrived to assist Marquette police at the scene. Rochon eventually turned the firearm over to a third party, according to a press release from the MPD.

Marquette police arrested Rochon on a warrant authorized by the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office for assault with a dangerous weapon, a felonious assault. She was lodged at Marquette County Jail with bond set at $150,000. Rochon is still awaiting arraignment.
