Names of victims in Ontonogan fire released
TROUT CREEK — Two Trout Creek residents were killed in a fire early Sunday morning, the Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office said. Sheriff’s deputies said they received the call at 6:38 a.m.
The victims were identified as David Saubert, 48, and David Saubert Jr., 6, both of whom were found in the home, located at 7373 Old Mill Town Road.
The home was a total loss.
The fire remains under investigation.
The sheriff’s office responded to the fire along with the Trout Creek and Duncan Township volunteer fire departments, the Ontonagon County Victims Services Unit and Michigan State Police K-9 Unit and the state Michigan Fire Marshal office.
