MARQUETTE — A single-vehicle rollover accident occurred on Marquette County Road 492 Thursday morning.

The 2000 Subaru Forrester was driven by Vanessa Green, 34, of Marquette, according to Marquette County Sheriff’s Office deputies at the scene. Green was westbound on County Road 492 when her vehicle struck ice, causing it to leave the road, rolling over multiple times before landing in the ditch.

Green was examined by EMS personnel at the scene but refused treatment. The accident occurred around 10:05 a.m.

Green’s vehicle was towed from the scene around 10:45 a.m.

“Drive slow, watch the roads,” urged Green, explaining roads are often more slippery than they appear.

Responding to the scene were the sheriff’s office, the Marquette Township Fire Department, Marquette Township EMS and UP Health System-Marquette EMS.

Police have determined icy conditions as the cause of accident.
