NEGAUNEE — The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter has announced Integrated Design Incorporated’s support of the Imagine the PAWSibilities Capital Campaign.

Integrated Design donated $20,000 to the construction of the new animal shelter by sponsoring an adoption counsel room. Integrated Design was particularly excited to work with UPAWS on the architectural and engineering drawings for the new shelter.

“Having the opportunity to work on a project like this was truly special. Knowing what this organization does for animals, and what the new facility will allow them to do, really hits home for us. Several of us here at IDI have adopted pets as part of our own families,” said Amy Deveau in a news release.

Travis Hongisto agreed: “What a rewarding experience to be associated with a company that would give back so much for the new facility of the animal shelter where half of my family was adopted from!”

To date, UPAWS has raised more than $2.8 million of the $3.7 million project to build an animal shelter that can be more than an animal shelter, it can be an animal community center. The campaign will retire the 40-year-old facility that currently houses UPAWS and the 1,500 animals that come through its doors every year. UPAWS has a consistent award-winning 98 percent save rate and is in dire need of a new facility.
