MARQUETTE — Amber Rae Suggitt, charged with multiple felonies after an alleged domestic assault involving a firearm earlier this year, was bound over to Marquette County Circuit Court Wednesday after a preliminary examination.

The 32-year-old from Marquette was arrested Feb. 28 following an alleged assault in which a firearm was discharged into a wall on the 100 block of East Fair Avenue.

Suggitt was charged with assault with intent to commit murder, kidnapping, first degree home invasion, assault with intent to commit sexual penetration and four counts felony firearms. Charges were added Wednesday of torture, assault by strangulation and two additional counts of felony firearms.

Suggitt is scheduled for arraignment in circuit court at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 25 with Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi.

Suggitt was found competent to stand trial in June.

Bond was set at $8 million, according to court documents.

Officials from the Marquette City Police Department said no injuries were reported as a result of the February incident. The second female involved is not being identified.
