Street closed for reconstruction work

MARQUETTE — Beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sugarloaf Avenue between Clark Street and Wright Street and Tracy Avenue from Norwood Street to Wright Street will be closed to through traffic for Phase 2 reconstruction work.

This is the second phase of eight phases. This phase is expected to last four weeks.

The Wright Street work will create a lane shift to the south side of the street by means of a temporary roadway from Neidhart Avenue to Lincoln Avenue. Sugarloaf Avenue traffic will be detoured by means of Wright Street, Presque Isle Avenue, and Hawley Street.

The Tracy Avenue work will detour traffic to Norwood Street and Wright Street. Businesses in this area are open and patrons can access them by way of Sugarloaf Avenue or Wright Street depending on the direction of travel. The public is advised to use caution when traveling through this area and to be alert for construction, detour and advisory signing.

A phasing schematic can be accessed at the City of Marquette Engineering Division website under the Wright Reconstruction Project link at www.mqtcty.org.

Hebert Construction Company is the general contractor for this project.
