MARQUETTE — Zachary Roll and Christopher Bryant II, both of Germfask, were arraigned Thursday in the 92nd District Court on felony charges related to a stabbing in Curtis early Wednesday morning.

According to a press release from the Michigan State Police post in St. Ignace, the two suspects were arrested at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday on multiple felony counts after they were allegedly observed by witnesses breaking into the Lakeside Grocery and Liquor store in Curtis.

They were arrested Wednesday and lodged at the Mackinaw County jail on charges of breaking and entering, larceny from a building, attempted murder, possession of a dangerous weapon and habitual offender, according to the release.

Troopers from the St. Ignace Post were dispatched to the scene Wednesday morning to investigate the alleged breaking and entering in progress.

Central Dispatch advised that patrons of the Shipwreck bar in Curtis observed two males breaking into the Lakeside Grocery and Liquor store.

Upon arrival, troopers determined the witnesses had the suspects detained, but not before one suspect had allegedly stabbed a witness who was trying to detain him. The victim reportedly sought his own treatment for the non-life-threatening wound.

The suspects allegedly arrived at the scene in a stolen vehicle, according to the release. The scene and vehicle were secured by troopers.
