2015 Cheer Club donations are still needed

The 37th Annual Cheer Club is a joint effort between the Journal, the Salvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul to provide gifts to local children and families in need. The St. Vincent de Paul in Marquette will be distributing gifts to qualified individuals Thursday, the Salvation Army of Ishpeming will be distributing gifts to qualified individuals Friday and the Salvation Army of Marquette will be distributing gifts until Dec. 22. All locations require that certain income guidelines be met in order to receive assistance. Gifts can be dropped off at the Journal’s Marquette and Ishpeming offices, the Marquette and Ishpeming Salvation Army locations and the St. Vincent de Paul in Marquette. UP Health System-Bell, ACE Hardware in Gwinn and the Marquette Township Hall will also accept donations for the Cheer Club. Gifts should be unwrapped and appropriate for ages up to 14 years.
