PWPL to present puppet show

MARQUETTE — On Saturday, the Peter White Public Library will present “Beauty and the Beast” as part of its “Once Upon a Time” puppet show series performed by actors of the Vertigo Theatre Company.

There will be two performances: One at 1 p.m. and another at 2 p.m. in the library’s Community Room on the lower level.

Originally written as a novella by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve, it tells the tale of a merchant’s daughter who must go live with a beast to save her father’s life. On Saturday, the performers of Vertigo Theatre will lend their own, often humorous, spin to this tale.

There is no admission charge thanks to sponsorship by the Friends of the Peter White Public Library.
