World Affairs — Northern Michigan University’s Department of Political Science and Public Administration is sponsoring local viewing of the World Affairs Council of Western Michigan’s “Great Decisions” series. Tasty Reads — “Taste of Persia by Naomi Duguid,” Duguid’s latest cookbook not only provides numerous, beautifully illustrated recipes from this diverse part of the world, but also relates stories of the people and region. Book sale — the Negaunee Public Library will be holding its Annual Valentine Book and Vinyl Record Sale in the Michigan Room of the Library from 1-3 p.m. Prices are a dime for all children’s books, 25 cents for paperbacks, and 50 cents for fine hard-cover books. The vinyl records are from the library’s own collection and will be sold as marked. The library is located at the Case and Jackson streets triangle. The book sale is open to the public. Refreshments will be served by the Friends of the Library without charge.
