‘Won’t You Be My Neighbor’ screened

“https://ogden_images.s3.amazonaws.com/www.miningjournal.net/images/2018/11/09233814/neigh.png” alt=”” width=”387″ height=”383″ class=”alignnone size-full wp-image-767288″ />MARQUETTE — DocuMonday presents a screening of the 2018 documentary “Won’t You Be My Neighbor” directed by Morgan Neville at 7 p.m. Monday in the Peter White Public Library’s Community Room on the lower level of the library.

Neville’s biographical documentary takes a look at the philosophy and creative genius of Fred Rogers, a Protestant minister who used television as a vehicle to teach children how to become good people. He tackled issues such as political violence and racial discrimination, always maintaining that everyone is special. Rated PG-13, this film runs 94 minutes.

“Won’t You Be My Neighbor” won awards for best documentary from the Seattle International Film Festival and Golden Trailer Awards. It won the People’s Choice Award at the Boulder International Film Festival and Heartland Film’s Truly Moving Picture Award.
