Dance Zone milestone to be marked
MARQUETTE — Dance Zone will celebrate its eighth anniversary on Saturday. The festivities begin with free afternoon dance workshops: 1 p.m. Movement and Dance for Those with Parkinson’s; 2:30 p.m. Latin Dance; 4 p.m. Waltz.
These are all free and open to the public.
Bring a dish to share for a 6 p.m. potluck dinner if o inclined. Plan to stay for the open dance with music provided by Blue Champagne from 7-10 p.m. Blue Champagne is one of the area’s best dance bands and are very popular with dancers. The charge for the evening dance is $10 per adult. Students may attend at a reduced price.
Remember to bring a pair of low-tread, clean-soled shoes to protect the dancers’ knees and the floor. For more information, contact Marge at 906-236-1457.
Anytime Fitness raising monies
MARQUETTE — Anytime Fitness Marquette’s monthly fundraiser is going to be for the Beacon House.
Beacon House is currently working toward building a new facility that will be close to the new hospital.
Anytime Fitness Marquette, which is along West Washington Street, will be accepting donations until Oct. 24 when it hosts $5 Team Training from 7-8 p.m. There will be a table set up all day on Oct. 24 as well.
