Marquette Elks 405 fish fry — from 5-7 p.m. The public is welcome. Chef Jeff will make to order whitefish, baked or fried with a choice of lemon pepper, cajun or ragin cajun spices. Shrimp, beer-battered cod, burgers and chicken strips are available as choices. All dinners include choice of baked potato, fries or onion rings, salad bar and a made from scratch dessert. The Gathering in the North — will take place from sunrise to sunset. This event is a coming together of many partnering organizations centered on the love of forests and the biome they support, specifically this year, bees. This inaugural event will be hosted by MooseWood Nature Center. Groups working together this year: Yellowdog Watershed Preserve, Marquette Regional History Center, Marquette Food Co-op, and the Northern Michigan Center for Native American Studies.

The 75th annual Rock Lions Labor Day Celebration — will take place starting with the parade at 11 a.m. Following the parade there will be activities for all ages. Music, mechanical bull, bounce houses, petting zoo, kids tractor pulls, bean bag tournament, bingo, cowpie bingo, flea market, paintball, pasties, burgers, brats, and beer at the Rock Lions Clubhouse grounds.
