MCHD — Clinic Services available today at Marquette County Health Department are: HIV/AIDS Counseling and Testing, and Immunizations from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. A WIC Clinic will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

Eagle Mine Tour — public tours of Eagle Mine facilities. Registration for the tours is required. This date, it’s a tour of the Eagle Mine from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The tour is free and open to people ages 13 and up. Attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. MSHS pick up — Marquette Senior High School freshmen should pick up their textbooks, Chromebooks and schedule of classes at the high school Student Resource Center-Library between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Parking permits may be purchased for $45. Car registration and completed Application to Drive a Vehicle on School Property required. These permits are sold on a first-come, first-served basis starting with seniors on this date.

Sale — The Women’s Missionary Society of First Baptist Church, Marquette, will have its annual sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Camping items, Christmas items, books, clothing, shoes, bedding, lamps, crafts, dishes, toys and kitchen ware will be among the items offered. MSHS tailgate party — the Marquette Redmen will host Traverse City St. Francis at the William R. Hart Stadium, Junior Varsity at 3:30 p.m. and Varsity at 7 p.m. Between games, the Marquette Area Public Schools cordially invites everyone; students, parents, staff and community, past and present, to join the third annual MAPS football tailgate party. The tailgate party will start at 5:30 p.m., on the MSHS practice field. This free event will include music, food, activities, games and more. Join in for kickoff at 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. (game tickets $5) as the celebration continues in the Redmen’s home stadium including hosting the Meet the Redmen/Redettes.

Haircut benefit — Julie’s Journey of Hope will benefit from Hair Cuts for a Cause from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Accents on Style in Gwinn. In that time frame, Accents on Style will be donating all proceeds from haircuts to Julie’s Journey of Hope, which aids a local woman who has been diagnosed with Freideich’s Ataxia, a rare and progressive neuromuscular disease that has no treatment and no cure. She is one of only 5,000 people diagnosed with this in the United States.

Whole Pie Sale — The South Community Fund Committee Women Who Care will have a summer whole pie sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — or until sold out. The sale will take place at the West Branch Township Hall, 1016 County Road 545 North. Proceeds from the sale will go toward scholarships, grants which support youth development, and the local food pantry.

Food will be served, and entertainment and the Tori (market) will happen during the entire event.
